Overview

By the end of this program, the participant should be able to:

  • Explain, at a high level, basic physics principles of mammography and digital radiography.
  • Describe common mammography dose levels and identify factors impacting dose.
  • Identify dose metrics and dose issues related to mammography, computed radiography, and direct      radiography systems.
  • Recall practices that can reduce radiation dose in the modalities discussed.
  • Identify where dose information and other guidance may be found.
