By the end of this program, the participant should be able to:

  • Explain the anatomical variations and physiology of parathyroid glands.
  • Recognize the lab values, signs, and symptoms related to calcium physiology.
  • Differentiate between primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism, as well as hypoparathyroidism.
  • Review the ultrasound characteristics and differentiate between parathyroid adenomas, parathyroid hyperplasia, and cancer.
