Overview

 By the end of this program, the participant should be able to:

  • Recall basic anatomy and physiology of the heart.
  • Identify waveforms and interval measurements for an electrocardiogram (ECG) tracing.
  • Identify normal cardiac structures visualized on the parasternal long-axis view of the heart.
  • Explain typical measurements and ratios that can be obtained from the parasternal long-axis (PLAX) view of the heart.
