Overview

By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to:

  • Discuss upper extremity arterial anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. 
  • Explain the common signs, symptoms, and etiology of upper extremity arterial disease.
  • Identify various spectral waveforms and pulse volume recordings encountered in an upper extremity arterial evaluation.
  • Recognize the common pitfalls encountered during upper extremity arterial duplex examination.
  • Describe the standard protocol for an upper extremity arterial examination as defined in the SVU’s Professional Performance Guidelines.
