By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to: 

  • Discuss lower extremity anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. 
  • Explain the common signs, symptoms, and etiology of lower extremity venous disease. 
  • Identify various spectral waveforms encountered in a lower extremity venous examination. 
  • Recognize the common pitfalls encountered during a lower extremity venous examination. 
  • Describe the standard protocol for a lower extremity venous examination as defined in the "Society for Vascular Ultrasound Professional Performance Guidelines."
