Overview

Information about the metabolic effect of a given cancer therapy allows you to adjust treatment strategies before physical effects become apparent. GE Healthcare PET VCAR

Integrated into the OncoQuant oncology platform, PET VCAR (Volume Computer Assisted Reading) improves visualization and analytical monitoring of disease progression or response to therapy. It provides the ability to compute various Standard Uptake Values (SUV), to measure metabolic activity and volume for PET defined areas of activity, and compare CT, PET/CT, and MR studies for baseline and follow-up studies.

System Requirements

Minimum platform release

  • PET VCAR is an optional package available starting from GE AW 4.6 and GE AW Server 2 platforms.

Upgrades

  • AW 4.6 upgrade exists for AW 4.4 and AW 4.5 running on xw8400, xw8600 and Z800.
  • Integrated Registration, OncoQuant and Lung VCAR are options complementary to PET VCAR functionality.

Pre-requisite software

  • Volume Viewer 5 is required
  • Integrated Registration is required for multimodality registration & synchronization. 

Intended Use

PET VCAR (Volume Computer Assisted Reading) is a PET/CT software package which can be used by the clinician to assist in diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and monitoring treatment response in oncology patients.
